- What Is Considered Star Wars Canon.
Personality:
- Han is a self-identified scoundrel. He navigates a shade of grey, not aligning himself with any one side unless it benefits him. Han is a smuggler, and therefore he wants to get paid for his actions. He often complains about the risk involved in battling back against the Empire, not wanting to sacrifice himself for some idealistic future that probably doesn't have a spot for him in it. He's frequently scolding Luke for being too idealistic in regards to Darth Vader and constantly rolling his eyes at Leia's insistence to join the rebellion.
- That being said, Han quietly wants to do what's right. He has a conscience, no matter how much of a front he puts up. While he initially only gets involved with the Resistance for money (on the promise of rescuing Leia, in order to pay off his debts with Jabba the Hutt), Han returns to save Luke and assist him in destroying the Death Star. He quickly becomes attached (and protective) of Luke and Leia, wanting to help them overthrow the Empire. He risks his life multiple times to save Luke throughout the trilogy (though he often complains about how Luke is a thorn in his side throughout the process). By the end of the original trilogy, Han Solo is a General in the Resistance, fighting alongside the rebels in order to obtain freedom for the Republic.
- Han's moral compass is a little grey. On one hand, Han is incredibly loyal to his friends. Luke and Leia mean everything to him, and Han isn't about to break his word to them, especially not after they risk their lives to save his skin. However, Han has absolutely no qualms about throwing fellow scoundrels under the bus, or lying and cheating his way to riches. He's swindled half the galaxy and regrets absolutely none of it... until Jabba the Hutt wants his head on a platter, anyway.
- Han is a skilled pilot, general, and strategist. While he has the swaggering bravado of an idiot (and, generally, Han Solo is an idiot), Han also knows when to pick and choose his battles. He can see when something is a lost cause and when something is worth fighting for. Even on suicidal missions such as taking down the Death Star, Han joined in because he knew Luke had a shot. There is a certain margin of error (Luke and Leia, Han has soft spots for, and he'll always play the hero for them), but unless there's a shot of getting his friends (and himself) out alive? He's not doing it.
- Han is a "see it to believe it" kind of guy. His universe revolves around hard facts, cash, and deals. If it's not right in front of him, it doesn't exist. At the beginning of his journey, Han is a complete skeptic and doesn't believe in the Jedi, or the Force. It's all a bunch of magical mumbo jumbo that has absolutely nothing to do with him, and frequently scoffs at the mention of it. However, by the end of RotJ, Han is a full-fledged believer... not because he's grown a belief in the unbelievable, but because he's witnessed it with his own eyes.
Abilities: - Han is a skilled pilot and mechanical engineer (or, at least, that's what he tells himself). He is the owner and captain of the Millennium Falcon, and he is the current record holder of completing the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs. He is frequently seen patching together the Falcon as she flies and, somehow, the thing still flies. Han must be pretty good at what he does.
- Han understands at least seven languages, being the smuggling POS that he is, and can sweet-talk his way out of problematic situations in at least two of them.
- Han is skilled with his blaster, which is not coming with him to Drift Fleet, because Han can and will shoot anything that moves with absolutely no regrets.
Augment Skillset: Pilot! Han is... well, a skilled pilot in his universe, so it's a pretty natural fit.
